It is been applied in the Indian market but approached by non- Indian origin brands (Maison Marglela, EL&N, Starbucks, etc). Recently, Kaybeauty was the one to initiate the concept of pop-up stores, showing how the Indian market is moving towards it.

Cinnamon

Location: Bangalore
Concept: A boutique housed in a colonial bungalow that includes a café.
Experience: Curated by Radhika Poddar, it offers a mix of homeware, decor, and fashion from leading Indian designers, blending vintage charm with modern aesthetics.

Gentle Monster

Gentle Monster’s stores resemble art galleries, filled with unique sculptures and installations. Visitors come to explore, take photos, and discover the brand. Each store has a distinct smell and soundtrack, making every visit an immersive experience.

Casper

Casper addresses sleep issues with a store experience that helps customers sleep better. For $25, visitors can nap for 45 minutes in private pods equipped with Casper mattresses, sheets, and pillows. “We aimed to create a calming, restful space that evokes our brand's spirit,” said Jeff Brooks, CMO.

Location: Jio World Drive, Mumbai
Concept: India’s first pop-up store for fragrances.
Experience: Allows customers to immerse themselves in the brand's fragrance range, enhancing the sensory shopping experience.

Lush stores use live demos, like testing bath bombs in sinks, to create vibrant spaces full of color, smell, and sound. This immersive experience justifies their premium pricing for soap and shampoo.

Kay Beauty Pop Up Store

Location: Carter Road, Mumbai
Concept: Blush Launch
Experience:  By focusing on community engagement and incorporating local culture, such as pop-ups, are redefining the shopping experience in urban settings.

Disney World

Disney’s focus on detail, like consistent music no matter the distance through 15,000 speakers, reflects a design culture of continuous improvement. This inspired retail stores to offer theme park-like experiences.

A temporary retail space that's open for a limited time, often to capitalize on a trend or event.

Creates buzz around brand and increase brand visibility and engagement. It also help connect with more consumers.

Why?

What do they do?

Everyday, discover a new story. Jaypore doesn’t like to call them sales. They are storytellers; about amazing product, and the people behind them.

  • Primarily, Jaypore focused on the age of 30+. Now, Jaypore launches new collections offering freshness, uniqueness, and excitement. This shows their shift in aim towards a fashion-conscious and young audience.

  • Emphasis on handmade products, sustainable practices, and support for local artisans.

Targets?

  • After the recent opening in Guwahati, Jaypore plans to host an artisans showcase, Cultural events, and workshops during launches to celebrate exclusivity in the shopping experience.

  • ​Also aims to open more stores as it is shifting from online to offline stores, which affects the increase in sales by 20-25%

Observing their tone of communication and website, Jaypore sells stories and has a section to buy from crafts as KARIGARI KI KAHANIYAA!
Choosing one of the crafts from Karigari ki kahaani with its newest collection launch. This helps with brand visibility, showcasing products to build new customers, and also acts as a promotion of the new launch of the collection, brand, or store.

KalamkariPod style Board

Conveying the process and technique of kalamkari through the pod along with the brand’s premium, quality, authenticity, craftsmanship and intricate details of Indian crafts.
